What is Orthoss?

Orthoss® is a well proven alternative bone replacement material in which the natural inorganic bony trabecular structure is maintained. Orthoss® is integrated into the natural regeneration process of the bone through osteoblasts and osteoclasts (remodeling). Approximately 6 million patients have been successfully treated in the last 25 years with this material with very good clinical results.

Orthoss® is derived from bovine bone and is processed and purified in a patented procedure. As a result, the original properties of the natural mineral structure remain largely unchanged.

What is unique about Orthoss?

Due to its natural origin, Orthoss® displays a high degree of similarity to human bone. This accounts for the excellent osteoconductivity of Orthoss® and allows the participation of Orthoss® in the natural remodelling processes of the bone. On the other hand, synthetic bone replacement materials, such as hydroxyapatite (HA) or glass granules, are different from natural bone in their structure
